Autonomous robot with a Raspberry Pi 2

This book deals with the selection of hardware and the development of software for a cost-effective and easy-to-use robot controlled by a Raspberry Pi 2. The Raspberry Pi runs on a Linux operating system and all code examples are written in Python. The cost of the required components should be kept as low as possible and they should be easy to source. The robot should also be simple to operate and suitable for replication using the source code examples. By the end of the book, the robot will have the following key functions: autonomous driving using a 4-wheel chassis, an ultrasonic distance sensor for detecting obstacles, servo motors for moving the camera, a camera for colour-based object recognition, a microphone and loudspeaker (e.g. for voice commands), and a touchscreen for controlling the robot.
