Contributing to Improved Nutrition for Children Under 5

This book examines a study on improving the nutritional status of children under five (5) years of age and of pregnant and breastfeeding women in the Kaya Health District. The study took place from March 2023 to August 2023. This improvement in nutrition resulted from the contribution of the Programmed Food Aid (AAP) project benefiting internally displaced persons (IDPs), including children under five (5) years of age and pregnant and breastfeeding women seeking refuge in Kaya. The study employed a methodological approach that included a sample of 116 women, comprising 58 beneficiaries and 58 non-beneficiaries of the maternal and child health project. The results show that women who are beneficiaries of the project have a rate of 98.27% for improved nutrition, while non-beneficiaries have a rate of 68.96%. In this regard, the infant and young child feeding practices in emergency situations (ANJE-U) implemented by the AAP project have led to satisfactory results in the Kaya health district.
