Insights into the Medieval History of the Turks from Chinese Sources

This work is devoted to the study of Chinese historical sources on the history of the Turks and their cultural interactions with China. It is precisely the Chinese sources that contain the earliest accounts of the Turks. Therefore, most studies are based on them. From the perspective of source criticism, Chinese sources are reliable and contain the most comprehensive information regarding the subject under study. The two main chapters examine issues of source criticism, describe the primary Chinese sources on the history of the Turks, outline the history of the Turks based on Chinese sources, and discuss the cultural interactions between the Turks and the Han Chinese.
