The Identity Crisis of Political Liberalism

The liberal system has been in crisis for several decades. It was originally designed for a small segment of society. Over the course of more than two centuries, it was extended to the entire population of the state-the massification of democracy. During this period, the social structure of the population changed significantly. New social classes have their own ideas about the form of government. In the nineteenth century, political parties emerged that quickly reached the center of decision-making and pushed citizens into the background. The self-interest of political parties led to a loss of public trust in the political system. The bureaucratization of the system has, in essence, completely eliminated the element of government accountability. Furthermore, a growing materialistic mindset is taking hold, manifested in the breakdown of the value system and a perception of society focused primarily on material goods. The loss of the liberal system's spiritual nature diminishes its appeal to the rest of the world. Politicians must pay more attention to public ethics and be less focused on their own political gains.
