In the college town of Levitry, paralegal Leroy receives cryptic emails while making voodoo ploys against his nemesis, an attorney whose family benefitted from land fraud that deprived rightful property from Creole of Color descendants, one of whom is investigating the historic theft. Other characters in this tale include a reformed forest wanderer possibly courting a single mother; an angry working man railing against the homeless, the government, and any other targets; and Crazy Judy babbling philosophy and balderdash in the cultural paradise she owns, the Levitry Literary Bookstore. Judy has mystic visions of concern for an Old Soul street kid persecuted by police, a boy whose legal defense becomes intermeshed with an unlikely transplant from the territory of Penitentes.
